Lindley has been working with a number of organisations providing training that develops their people and provides a benefit to the community. This is most often done through running some form of community project which provides a great challenge for course members with real consequences and benefits local communities. One of our flagship programmes of 2006 was a programme that had multiple beneficiaries principally a group of recently employed graduates from DHL and primary school children from inner city Sheffield . The programme provided opportunities for the graduates to develop some recently learnt management skills by running a community project providing a three day outdoor residential programme for the children, supported by staff from Lindley.
The children loved the programmes and their teachers were amazed how much the children developed in a few days. We are currently in the process of designing more programmes of this nature and are keen to discuss this powerful learning tool with other organisations.
Such projects not only provide and excellent training medium while benefiting the community they contribute to their employers Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. |
