Special Schools
With some adaptation our activities are very appropriate for those with either behavioural or physical special needs. A flexible approach is always required in order to deal with issues as they arise. Programmes for young people with behavioural problems are more intensive so as to keep them involved and we generally operate such groups at a lower staff / student ratio. We also recognise the benefits of working on longer term projects where experiences and skills are developed over a period of months.

Whilst we are not a specialist centre for those with special physical needs, we are striving to be more inclusive and thanks to an ‘Awards for All grant’ we are developing our skills and equipment stores in order to offer a more inclusive service.

We hold an AALA (Adventurous Activities Licensing Authority) license. Our staff are generally qualified to a higher standard than the minimum requirements and are, more importantly, highly experienced. By working with small groups (max 10) each child has the opportunity to participate fully.
