| As Hollowford is situated in the heart of the Peak District National Park it is an ideal starting point for many excellent walks. Mam Tor the famous shivering mountain overlooks the Centre and is an easy half-day objective, which can be extended to take in the popular ridge eastwards to Lose Hill. For those who want a more challenging and rugged experience exploring the Dark Peak, the Edale valley is only 20 minutes by minibus and from there a variety of routes lead up onto the high moorland of Kinder Scout. By contrast the softer limestone dales of the White Peak are a similar distance to the south.
At Hollowford you can learn to navigate across the hills, improve your navigation skills or simply have a guided walk in one of Britain’s most beautiful areas. Our qualified and experienced instructors will supply all the necessary equipment including; rucksacks, water bottles, flasks, waterproofs, hats and gloves and walking boots.
We can also offer expeditions that would include an overnight away from the centre either in tents or at a simple bunkhouse with groups planning & preparing their meals as well as clearing up afterwards. |
