Archery
Archery is a great, fun and relatively easy activity to quickly improve at. We won’t just give a bow and arrow and point you in the direction of the target. After a short practice time, with instruction participants quickly improve with somebody in a group generally getting a gold after about 15 shots. As technique and aim gets better it is possible to have a small competition as a finale.

We all know the story of Robin Hood splitting arrows, medieval competitions & many battles but archery was not only an essential part of medieval life, it was also a pastime. Many words and phrases come from archery; "Another string to your bow", "Keep it under your hat" - to keep a spare string dry they would put it under their hats, "A bolt from the blue" - a bolt is the arrow from the crossbow which came from the skies being the blue. Archery was and still is in some countries used to hunt for food.

Archery is run on-site and can be a chance to slow the pace down a little and reflect on other activities and experiences. For a half day session archery combines very well with Orienteering.
